Molecular Markers in Lupins

Lupin Molecular Genetic Research

Perth is a world centre for lupin molecular genetic research and development. Under the banner of CLIMA, research groups at the Department of Agriculture and Food (DAFWA), the University of Western Australia and Murdoch University have developed the world’s first genome maps of narrow-leafed lupin (Lupinus angustifolius L.). Researchers at DAFWA are implementing molecular markers to assist in the breeding of lupin varieties with disease resistance and other agronomic triats. Follow the links to find out more.
