Cheer Up Your Wheat with a Legume Rotationby Crossword and Quiz Question | Mrs Brown's Cake Recipe | Mr and Mrs Brown | Billie Bean Song Howdy! I'm Wally Wheat, me and Billie Bean are having a meeting with the Downsanup Downs mayor to discuss the wheat problems. The wheat that is coming through is unbearably unhappy and we want to cheer up the wheat. The meeting had gone for 5 hours and still no one had thought of anything. It was about to end when Billie came up with his fabulous idea. His idea was to cheer up the wheat with a legume rotation. The mayor loved the idea but his only concern was whether the farmers would agree to use the idea. None of the farmers had liked the idea. But a week later Billie received a phone call from the mayor saying that a new farmer was moving into Downsanup Downs and he liked the idea so he would try it. Next week we had a meeting with him and his wife (Mr and Mrs Brown). In the meeting Mr Brown decided to plant Chickpeas, then nothing and then wheat. On Tuesday Billie and I went to help Mr Brown plant the Chickpeas and wheat. * * * Three years later after many exciting events, that you can read about in many other episodes. Mr Brown's wheat was harvested and sent to market. Over the years Mr Brown had made millions more dollars than the other farmers had. Mr Brown sent some of his wheat to the food fair and the rest to be sold. Mr Brown won the food fair and made the most money from his wheat. He was known all around the country because of his success and all the other farmers wished that they had done the legume rotation. Mr Brown and I decided to throw a party for Billie to say thankyou. On Thursday night every one in Downsanup Downs came and Mr and Mrs Brown made Billie all sorts of things including a massive birthday cake. Billie walked in the door at 7.30pm |
