75% of wheat grown in Australia is exported to other countries. Wally Wheat's relatives travel from Australia to feed people in more than 40 other countries. Most of Wally's relatives go to Asia and the Middle East. Pulses - Where Does Australia Send its Pulses?
Pulses grown in Australia are sold to about 40 different countries around the world. This provides Australia with export dollars. Australia is currently one of the top three pulse-exporting countries. (The other two are Canada and Turkey.) Some of the countries to which Australia exports pulses are: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Spain, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Mexico, Canada, Italy and Japan.
- Australia exports field peas to over 35 countries. The largest buyers are Pakistan, Bangladesh and India.
- Australia is the second largest exporter of chickpeas, sending them to over 40 countries. India, Spain, Bangladesh and Pakistan are the top buyers of Australian chickpeas.
- Australian faba beans go to countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Spain, Indonesia, Malaysia, Italy and Japan.
