Harvesters and HeadersWhen a crop is ready to be harvested. Mr Jones brings out the trusty combine harvester. Sometimes people call it a header. The header refers to the actual rotating part that cuts and picks up the crop. A header is either connected to the harvester or it can be dragged along by a tractor. You can get differnet sized harvesters and headers for different crops and paddock sizes. The harvester stores all the grain inside its grain bin or it can use an auger to put the grain straight into the back of a truck driving alongside the harvester. The harvester spits all the chaff and dust out the back. | |
