Evil Pea Weevil QuestionBelow is Petra Pea's report on the work of the Evil Pea Weevil:"Female pea weevils use our precious pea pollen to feed themselves before they start laying their eggs. They wait for our pods to form, then lay their eggs on them. The grubs that hatch out of the eggs burrow through our pods right into our juicy sweet seeds and like all grubs, just eat and eat and eat until our seeds are quite hollowed out. I guess it's the protein in our seeds that makes us so attractive. You can't really blame them for eating us, but it means a bad crop for farmers and that's not good for us." A bad crop might not be invited onto a farm more than once. Still the farmers next door have been growing peas for a few years, so they must have some way of controlling pea weevils. These pictures show how the pea weevil causes damage, but they're NOT in the correct order. Use Petra's report to arrange them in the correct order. | |||
