Meristems | ||
Plants have special parts where new shoots grow from. These parts are called meristems. If meristems are killed the plant can't grow new parts. Larry and his fellow lupins have their meristem above ground, so it they break off the plant can't regrow new parts. Chelsea Chickpea and her gang hide their meristems under ground, so if the tops are broken off new shoots can regrow. This is how she survived the hail storms. | ![]() | |
